Marble Runs

We had great fun making our marble runs as our latest STEAM activity. We designed our own marble runs and there were only three requirements: they had to be at least 150cm long, they had to have three turns at least and the marble had to land into a small container or bottle. The winning team would have the marble that took the longest to complete the run.

Science week 2019

We had a busy week for science week 2019. We made lighthouses as a STEAM activity. We used our science, technology, engineering, art and maths skills to create our individual projects. We tried out chemistry also by testing household liquids to see if they were acids or bases. Our indicator was a magic liquid made out of red cabbage! We finished off the week by Making robots. We hope you enjoy our photos from the week.

Sports Day 2019

The sun shone on us for our sports day this year. We had a great day playing crab soccer, dodge bean bag and parachute games. We ran some laps of the pitch and got very competitive for our egg and spoon, sack and three legged races!

School tour 2019

This year our destination for our tour was Shannon. We started with a tour of the Atlantic Aviation Centre. We got to land and take off in a flight simulator. This was followed by a tour of the museum where we got to sit into some very old planes as well as modern ones. After a lovely lunch in Mc Donalds, we went to the Shannon Leisure Centre where we played games, bounced in a bouncy castle and did some rock climbing. Before heading for home we paid a visit to the local playground. A great day was had by all.

Green Schools Ceremony 2019

We were delighted to receive our second green flag this year. The theme was energy and all the children worked very hard to achieve this award. We were presented with our flag in Galway on May 9th. Méabh, Jack and Daniel attended the ceremony and collected the flag on behalf of the school. Well done to everyone.

Beach Clean-Up 2019

Our annual beach clean up took place on March 7th 2019. Well done to all the children who gathered a surprising amount of rubbish. The beach is looking good once again!

Flag raising ceremony

We had a great end to the 2017/2018 school year with our flag raising ceremony. We raised our Green Flag and our Active Flag which we received during the year. The children gave a short presentation outlining the steps involved. It was a perfect end to a very productive school year.

Our trip to Nevsail in Kilkee was a great success. We had blue skies and a light breeze so conditions were ideal. We got to try canoeing, kayaking and surfing. Some people discovered their new favourite sport!
